The following description was provided by Project Ryoko:

#### What is this collection?
This collection of the first Baki series, also known as Baki the Grappler, compiles all of the best releases for every chapter of the first series. It's a mixture of various releases for the series that aims to minimize the inclusion of chapters by the "Wild Fang Project", a notoriously terrible scanlation group which had next-to-no cleaning and made up lines constantly.
In addition, to make it a "Perfect Edition", I've gone through every chapter of the series and restored the color pages for ones that had them. The color pages are sourced from the Chinese release for the series, found on Bilibili. I also gave every volume a title taken from a chapter included in it for easier navigation.
#### Which releases does it use, then?
Chapters 1-32: Project Ryoko
Chapters 33-46: Raijin Comics (Old official release.)
Chapters 47-73: Wild Fang Project (Unfortunately, these are the best existing scans for this part of the series, as no one redid them. The ones by S Jump Forum have worse scan quality and even worse writing. They were responsible for the infamous "RECAP RECAP RECAP" page.)
Chapters 74-180: Project Ryoko
Chapters 181-208: TheSpinyBackTeam
Chapters 209-371: Mostly /a/nonymous, with a few chapters by TheSpinyBackTeam and Project Ryoko.
#### Why create this collection now? Wasn't an official version JUST announced?
That is correct! The reason for this collection's existence is to have a singular source for the best Baki the Grappler scanlations to be read until the official release begins in October 2025, and so you can archive these scanlations locally if you wish to.
#### Why is this collection only 24 volumes long? Isn't Baki the Grappler 42 volumes long?
To make the collection easier to navigate, I've decided to use the "Kanzenban Edition" or the "Complete Edition" as a basis for every volume. This is an omnibus release from the 2010s that compiled the original series into 24 volumes. It also includes newly drawn covers by Keisuke Itagaki. The English logo on the covers is sourced from the official French release of the series.
#### Where is Volume 43 (Igari Kanji vs. Mount Toba)?
As this extra volume was only "translated" by the Wild Fang Project, I chose not to include it in this release, as you'd have a better time just looking at the raw Japanese pages than reading Wild Fang's fanfiction of a translation.
Thank you for reading,
