This torrent contains the 1983 TV series "Ginga Hyouryuu Vifam," the 1998 TV series "Ginga Hyouryuu Vifam 13" (a sort of side-story or alternative version anime), the Recap OVAs "Kachua Kara no Tayori" & "Atsumatta 13-nin" (that summarize the 2 halves of the 1983 TV series), as well as 2 more side-story OVAs "Ginga Hyouryuu Vifam: Kieta 12-nin" & "Ginga Hyouryuu Vifam: Keito no Kioku - Namida no Dakkai Sakusen" that were released the year after the original series ended.
Encoding is first and foremost a hobby for me. The public distribution of my encodes is always secondary in importance, and not even necessarily always mandatory. Take note that sometimes there could be many encodes uploaded at once, or at other times no encodes for a long while. Requests will probably not be read but you are free to make a comment. All uploads are sourced from the JPBD unless otherwise mentioned in the torrent title. Seeding may be fast at times or slow at other times. Torrent activity dies down as time passes and seeders disappear. If you arrive late to download, leave it open in your torrent client for a few days before asking for a seed from others. Also, please be kind and seed the torrent to others when you are finished downloading. If you have more questions visit the [discord server](https://discord.gg/usjW27V), where you can request reseeds of old torrents (read the pinned message with rules or your request may be deleted). You can also ask there about subtitles for these raw files (read the pinned message and attempt to use those resources yourself first before asking for help).

To view the images larger, middle click or right click and select "Open link in new tab." When I create BD vs MKV comparisons they will be displayed below. Otherwise, screenshots generated by others are from a default clean copy of [mpv.net](https://github.com/mpvnet-player/mpv.net) with **screenshot-format=png** turned on, ran through [OptiPNG](https://optipng.sourceforge.net/) lossless size optimization, then uploaded to google photos host without compression.

### What is the .md5 file?
The .md5 file is a hash file, it is used to determine that there is no corruption in the files you download from the torrent. [Here is a direct link](https://drive.google.com/uc?authuser=0&id=1d6cgbtZyuY0MAlVUaRlWnuZFrAQx4h6l&export=download) to BreezeHash, a software created by a friend that can calculate the hashes of files as well as check the integrity of files using a hash file such as .md5

Someone else (I believe) grabbed the subs via OCR based on Anime-Classics subs.
Vifam 13 hasn't been fansubbed, but I'm in the process of doing it.
Sorry for spamming.
Vifam 13, the interquel, has been subbed. I did it solo; so expect some mistakes, mistranslations, occasional mistimings.

Just skimmed the Vifam 13 ones - they're complete dogshit, don't bother.
> expect some mistakes, mistranslations, occasional mistimings
> some
> occasional
Literally every line is wrong in some way.

> By the way, this whole project was done solo. Whilst I do not, and never will, wholeheartedly embrace AI, I must admit that this project would not have occurred without it.
> My workflow was thus:
> * Use software to try and isolate the voices from the soundtrack as much as possible
> * Generate Japanese captions via Adobe Premiere Pro
> * Convert the captions to SRT format.
> * Create a custom AI bot that was briefed on the nomenclature of the show and the romanization of names and then translate the SRT into English.
> * Get extremely pissed off at the mistakes and correct them manually.
Thanks for the subtitles, captainbubby! Unlike the guy you called out I definitely appreciate having something rather than nothing.
And as for Vifam 13, it's generally considered not worth watching anyway, from all that I have heard. As I understand it the series was made out of love after Takeyuki Kanda died. Vifam was a very beloved show to a lot of people, and Kanda was pretty beloved too. It's sweet that they did that. But I don't think the tribute they made managed to recapture the magic that made the original so great.
And by the way, this release of the original is one of the most overscrubbed blu rays of an 80s show I've ever seen. It's painful. It's like a priceless Rennaissance painting that was "restored" by some amateur fool in the 18th century, its finer details permanently destroyed. Not to be hyperbolic, but really, the Bandai suits who made this decision ought to be horsewhipped. "Make it look digital so it'll sell!" Yeah, that's who's buying a $600 Vifam Blu Ray set: 20-something Netflix-watching phonetards who want it to look "clean." Arigato, you corporate shitheads! I'd almost prefer to just watch the DVD version forever, in all of its dingy dot-crawling glory. At least it still has some of the grain left in it!
